But i should have included selling stock video footage.

So this way to generate an income is fairly the same as selling photography – If your a digital video fan and enjoy spending hours filming,(even just 5mins) you could make money selling them on various sites on the Internet.
I’m not talking about videos on a wedding or you down the beach, but more specific footage that people may ask you to create.

This is a fairly new way to make money online that i know about, Ive not tried it and am not likely too, (remember I’m no good with photography, so I’m going to be no better with video am i).
Having said that Ive done a lot of research over the past week about this subject so that i can bring you up to date real information that Ive researched and asked people about.
This is a great way to add an extra stream of income to your building portfolio.

How To Start Selling Video Footage Online

Well apart from needing a video camera you will also need two other things!

1. The websites where you Can upload and get paid

2. The info on what kind of video footage these sites require

Firstly the kind of footage on these sites really does make me want to give this a go. Ive just visited one site and had a good look at the content.
I did a search on cats – and i found on the first page a video of a cat turning over – nice amature video – about 10 seconds long – and the price for me to buy this clip = $10

I then did a second search on subject - money

i found on the first page a vast mix of footage about money – The price Average = $28

Their is even a video of a man counting money for $10

So as you can see from the kind of results Ivefound, their really is a good amount of money to make creating video footage of any content you can imagine.
If you live by the sea, get out and take some footage of the tide approaching or a fishing boat going out to sea.
What about a sunset, waterfall, field blowing in the wind.
Lots of possibilities!!!

Be sure to do your research – see what people are searching for most when it comes to video footage, what animal videos seem to sell more, theirs great opportunities here for anyone with even a little bit of video camera savvy!

So you have researched what people are looking for, you can supply the market with great content – whats next?

With most of these sites you get to set your own price and own terms. These are really great income steams to have added to your profile. Once you have uploaded your video footage you can take two paths.

1. Leave them and let people find them on sites with the built in search engine

2. Promote them using social media and any other marketing technique you can
