It is possible to earn money blogging after a few short months, but the big marketers make huge money year after year with the same blog or site. Traffic builds over time and if you are looking to earn fast money from your blog think again.
Setting up a blog is easy, building a blog for looks and content is easy, getting traffic to your blog and making money is HARD!!!
Ive created a large number of blogs and websites and each time I learn a little bit more that I apply to the next.
First things you need to do to start your blog and build earnings.
1. Use googlekeywordtool.com or keywordspy.com
Use these tools above to find your keywords, this is so important and always over looked.
First, What niche is your blog going to be about? The subject? Make it as specific as you can.
Example : instead of the title DOGS.com use husky puppy dog info.com
That’s just an example and you would need to use the tools above to find words that are being searched in google to maximise your traffic.
It’s important to find the number of results as this will be your competition for placement on google.
You have found a good title whats next?
The next step is in 2 parts…
1. Are you going to use free blogs or are you going to pay for web hosting and buy the domain name?
So if you are looking to build your blog for free, then visit these 2 awesome sites below. 
2. If you are looking to own your own domain name and pay for hosting I highly recommend you use WordPress to format your blog and then godaddy.com to buy your domain and hosting package.
Hosting packages are charged on subscription basis and domain registration is normally a one off fee for a set amount of years!
Now you have your blogs name its time to write content and start telling others your skills and knowledge.
2. Blog content
Must Write Value Posts On Your Blog
This is something that should be very easy to do, just write about what you know! but remember some key points, the most important of all content writing is to give your readers VALUE VALUE!
It’s no good writing about your day at work, your readers will not return to your blog and you will lose traffic and potential earnings.
Each time you write a post think about it as you were reading it yourself, would you like it and would you return to read it again and possibly read other content of similar topic.?
3. The Look Of The Blog
You may think that the look of the blog is something that’s not important but I disagree. Some underground tactics will tell you to make the blog look boring so that people on your site will take more interest in your banners or ads!”! but that’s not the way I roll. Making your blog look great and easy to navigate will keep traffic coming back and even get them to get involved with comments and using your RSS feed
Making your blog look nice is easy if using WordPress, you can just change templates, there are many sites that offer free templates or you could splash out and pay for one.

4. Monetizing Blog
The main way to monetize your blog is through CPC Ad Networks. The most successful one online and what most people use is Google’s Adsense Program. Basically what they do is read through the article you have posted and find relevant ads and publish these on your website. The good thing about google putting relevant ads on your site is they can be quite beneficial to your readers and earn you some money at the same time.
So you put Google Ads on your site and every time someone clicks on one of these Ads you get paid.
Another way of monetizing your blog is to use affiliate programs. As an affiliate you advertise someone else’s product and earn a commission on the sale. There are many programs you can use for this but here are a few,

5. Maintaining your blog
Maintaining your site is really just the easy part of running a successful blog. Check for comments each day, interact with other users, be helpful and take criticism.
Be sure to keep active by writing fresh and helpful content as often as possible, this is really important to google, they will reward you with higher rankings is the search engines the more you are active and the more great fresh unique content the better for you!!
One important fact to remember is don’t spam your keywords,, its important to write with the keywords you are looking to get ranked for.. but over used words will come with penalties.
so maintaining your site is really about keeping it fresh and unique.
6. Promoting Your Blog
Everyone can write a blog, but getting your site indexed by googles search engines and getting ranked well!! only a select few can manage it.

Some of the reasons above can be overcome with time and knowledge and of course skill, but lets face it, if you just cant be bothered in spending hours writing fresh content and getting your site promoted, then you are wasting your time. To earn money blogging, it takes a lot of time and effort and many lose the tenacity to continue and give up early.

Backlinks are so important in ranking your site, without backlinks its not even worth starting blogging, but you must know the correct type of backlinks to get.

7. Finalise
My final point is just to recap all thats been said and make it simple. To earn blogging is something that takes time and effort but its an awesome thing when you get ranked well on google and start seeing that free organic traffic come into your site.
